This Lemuel was called ÒTrading LemÓ
Lemuel moved to Monroe Co OH with his father Ambrose and grandfather Lemuel and families. He had his cabinetry shop on his farm.
Lemuel & Sarah, deeded 20 acres of land to William Philpot (Deed bk 1, p. 127), and later deeded 79 acres to Joel Allen (Bk B, p. 368). Both these names appear later in Rucker families.
Sarah was a sister of Rachel Stevens, 2nd wife of his father, Ambrose.
In 1860, Parks Goodall, 62, and Sarah, 52 was living in house 789, Union Tsp, Lawrence Co OH, with James F. Rucker, 12, and Mary E. Rucker, 15. This census was taken 11 Jul 1860.
The same year, in Winsor twp, Lawrence Co OH; House #10, Sarah Goodall, 49, farmer; Elias Rucker, 19; Mary E. Rucker, 14; and James F. Rucker, 12; Katherine Daily, 17; William Falkner, 33; Sarah, 32; Lavinda, 14; Susannah, 12; Ransom, 9; Elizabeth, 7; Isabel, 5; Mary M., 3; William, 6/12. All living in the same household with Sarah (Rucker) Goodall. This census was taken 9 Aug 1860.
ÒKatherineÓ Daily was the daughter of John and Catharine Daily. In 1850 her name was ÒCatharineÓ. She had two brothers, Vincent, 17, and John, 15.
205. Elias B. Rucker
Served in Civil War, 5th VA Reg.
In 1860, Elias was still living with his mother, Sarah Goodall.
He was killed in an explosion.
Dr. Rucker served in the Civil War, 5th VA Reg.
In MattieÕs obituary, ÒShermanÓ was listed as a brother. No other record of this son has been found.
Mary moved to Ansley in 1906.
In 1860 census, Union twp, Lawrence Co OH, James and his sister Mary were living in the same household as Parks Goodall, 62 VA and Sarah, 54 PA. See also: SarahÕs notes in Lemuel S. Rucker section.
In the 1900 census, James was 55 years old, making him born in 1844.
He died of BrightÕs Disease.
Note that FrancesÕ husband was Thomas W. Her sister had married Thomas A. Gulick. This can be confusing.
She died at the home of her brother-in-law, Martin Rucker, in Gentry Co.
Theodore Gulick, b 1854 OH was living in Gentry Co MO in 1880. His wife was Alice, b 1863 MO, and their child was S. Edmore, b 1879 MO.
He was a half-brother of Thomas. He married 2) Kathrin Dunbar Blake 2 Oct 1901.
